Prohibited and restricted items

Listings are screened by a policy engine before they can be published. The rules below are enforced automatically; anything that matches is blocked or routed to a human reviewer.

Not permitted

• Firearms, ammunition and weapon components
• Explosives and hazardous materials
• Illegal drugs and controlled substances
• Nicotine and vape products
• Counterfeit, replica and stolen goods
• Gambling, sweepstakes and penny-auction mechanics
• Adult sexual services or content
• Regulated financial products
• Recalled or unsafe products
• Human remains or body parts
• Live animals and protected wildlife products

Reviewed before publication

• High-value categories that require review before publication
• Attempts to move the transaction off platform

Auction mechanics we do not allow

• Penny auctions and bidding-fee auctions.
• Lottery, raffle or sweepstakes mechanics presented as an auction.

Reporting and appeals

Anyone can report a listing. Sellers whose listing is held can appeal, and the full moderation history is retained. Suspending a storefront or freezing a payout never deletes a seller's listings; those are separate states with separate reasons.

This list changes as law, card-network rules and our payment provider policy change. It is configuration, not code, so it can be updated without a deployment.
